SIMS 2020

20^th September 2020,

I opened up the newspaper today and the headlines read, “CAT results out. Top B-schools had a long list of candidates waiting for the results. Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies makes yet another step up in the rankings.” I read the whole article and realized that my alma mater, SIMS had made a huge leap since I left the B-school. It was now one of the top 15 B-schools in India and was giving cut throat competition to the best ones.

This brought a whole turmoil of memories in my mind and I kept on wondering the whole day about the journey of SIMS in these 9 years. When I joined SIMS in 2013, it was ranked 26^th amongst the B-schools in India. SIMS indeed has come a long way through. Today, when I look at the infrastructure, the hostels, the recreation area, the Basketball Court and above all the image of SIMS in the education fraternity, everything has taken many steps forward. There was a time when the major thing SIMS was known for is being the party college and today it has the reputation of one of the best educational institutions in India. SIMS always had the differential advantage of being a college with wards of defence personnels. Today, the entire world can see that. SIMS alumni have adjusted to the work culture and the locations outstandingly well. Apart from that, the top executives and directors of many Multi-National Companies have SIMS alumni as a part of them. One does not see SIMS as just any part of the SYMBIOSIS international University, but, SIMS has made a name for itself in the past years. Last time when I went to SIMS was during the last alumni meet, and believe me the Alumni Meets have improved a lot too. The kind of treatment that the alumni get, the kind of hospitality and follow-up procedures everything has improved tremendously. Ihe infrastructure has been expanded. they had all the kinds of sports facilities for the students with proper courts. SIMS also has provisions for all other activities like dance, drama, debates, MUNs etc as well. The events that happen in SIMS have gone to international levels as well. There has been no month that SIMS has not been in the newspaper. No doubt, it is because of the hardwork of the faculty, staff and students at SIMS. Had it not been because of them, SIMS would have not reached a place where the sky is the limit.

Today I feel proud to say that I am an alumnus of SIMS. I myself am a symbol of SIMS who would wat to keep unto its name and honour. There have been times when people had let me down but today they have respect for me when they know I am a SIMSite. i just pray that SIMS keeps on excelling the way it has been and the path of SIMS has no obstacles in between.

the whole event was full of enthusiasm and vigour of the SIMS students.  INDIA's 67th independence day had a feeling of patriotism in the students of SIMS. the exhilarating event was completed by the flag hoisting, Director sir's and the predent of student council's speech and a big photo session by the exhited SIMS crowd. here is a glimpse of the event. hope you enjoy it.

SIMS PRODUCTION HOUSE, since its very inception in 2013 itself has been grabbing attention of all the SIMSites and other B-schools in and around Pune. SIMS Production House is the first initiative of its kind in any B-school where the student managers can showcase their talent in photography, video making, acting and direction. The main aim of SIMS Production House is to create an aura around the students of SIMS which will set them apart from the rest of the world. We, here at SIMS, try and encapture every small little detail of our college life and make the memories even more memorable.

It is rightly said that a person who has good memories is the richest man on this earth. Times change and so do humans. One thing that does not change is the memories of the good old days that we have in our hearts and will keep it safe for the rest of our live cherishing them at every chance we get. SIMS Production House will try and do its best towards taking you closer to these memories. So that after two years when you look at the documentaries, movies, photographs and videos, one thing you will can definitely say, “I am proud to be a SIMSite and these were my two years….”

As the first event of the 2013-15 batch, we has the opportunity to cover a guest lecture by the eminent scientist Dr. Anil Kakodkar. Dr. Kakodkar is India’s most renowned nuclear scientist and has been awarded by many high civilian honours like Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan. SIMS Production House managed to get some precious moments with Dr. Kakodkar and he gracefully answered all the questions that we asked him. As he was in a hurry, the interview was very short and crisp and the rare gracious presence of Dr Kakodkar soon ended.

The next event in-line was the movie on the SIMS way of life which we are sure all the SIMSites loved and admired. We received a great response after the trailer of the movie was shown in the Auditorium.  The tremendous support shown by the faculty and the students white the shooting was being done cannot be explained. Since this was happening for the first time in SIMS, everyone was excited.

Along with that SIMS Production House has been covering all the major and minor events happening in the campus like the debate competition organized by Abhigyata-the Library Cell, the Human Resources Conference and the Independence Day celebrations in the university.

SIMS Production House will endeavor to deliver the best we can to the best of our abilities. We sincerely hope that you love our job and support us in the best possible way.

A START ............

Sims Production House is the first of its kind by any B- School across India. SYMBIOSIS INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES, which is one of the top notch B-Schools of India is the first to start up such an initiative whose main task is to produce short films on several issues provide students a real time experience of world of advertisement & communications.
